20th Annual Dublin Charity Cup

September 5 & 6, 2009

Youth Invitational Tournament

Hosted by the Dublin Soccer League in conjunction with the City of Dublin

This tournament has been sanctioned (Sanction Form) by the Ohio South Youth Soccer Association, affiliated with USYSA, USSF and FIFA.

When: Competition will begin at 8:00 am on Saturday, September 5, 2009, and end on Sunday, September 6, 2009. If necessary, but highly unlikely, some local teams may be scheduled to play on Friday evening, September 4th. 

Team registration will be held on Friday, September 4, 2009, at the new host hotel, Courtyard by Marriott Columbus-Dublin, 5175 Post Road, Dublin, OH 43017, 614-764-9393, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Only the team coach or representative is required to attend.

Entry Fee: U-09 through U-12 teams: $350.  U-13 and up: $375.

Where: Avery Park and Darree Fields in Dublin, Ohio (Do not use recreation field layouts for tournament field locations). The sites are within easy access of many fine hotels and restaurants. A full-service concession stand and soccer store will be available. Each game is officiated by three USSF trained referees. 

What: Each participating team will play a minimum of three games.

Awards: Finalists will receive both individual and team trophies.

Who: Applications are invited from teams that are duly registered with their respective State and/or National Association and Canada. Players must be registered to the team making the application and play for one team only. All teams and players accepted to the tournament will be verified. Only players with valid photo player passes will be permitted to play. For a complete set of tournament rules, click on the Tournament Rules link above.

Maximum number of players on any one team's roster:

  • U-13 and U-14/15 ages, playing eleven-a-side, maximum of 18.
  • U-11 and U-12 playing eight-a-side, maximum of 14.
  • U-09 and U-10 playing six-a-side, maximum of 12.

Players may play for only one team in the tournament. Switching teams by players is not permitted. A maximum of three (3) guest players is permitted in U-9 and U-10 age groups; a maximum of four (4) guest players is permitted in U-11 and up. U-14 teams are officially entered in a U-14/15 age group to accommodate teams with "trapped" or "orphaned" eighth-grade players. All of a team's players must be within the guidelines for the tournament division age group.

There will be NO EXCEPTIONS to the above player/team requirement.

Print an Entry Form (entry form must be printed on one page, portrait mode), complete, sign, and mail (with check or money order to Dublin Charity Cup for the appropriate amount; $350 (U-09/10/11/12) or $375 (U-13 & up) to:

  • To be considered on-time, Entry Form must be received by July 15, 2009.
    First Class Postage is now 44 cents
  • Notification of acceptance or non-acceptance will be sent no later than August 7, 2009.

We appreciate your interest in the Dublin Charity Cup, now in its twentieth consecutive year. In the past nineteen years, more than $429,000 has been donated to charity. In 2008, 218 teams from Ohio, surrounding states and Canada participated in the tournament resulting in a donation of over $35,000 to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio.

 

Inclement weather is always a possibility and such weather may result in abbreviated or cancelled games. In the event of tournament cancellation due to inclement weather, there is no guarantee of a refund.
